Spring 2012 News - PAL Stratford
PAL STRATFORD purchased an historic arts & crafts home, a former bed & breakfast operation, on Valentine’s Day. It will be converted into a PAL Lodge. It is hoped the property will be renovated and be ready for occupancy later this year.
Following a formal announcement in due course, Palingenesis will be carrying a full story of this exciting development in our Summer Issue.
Winter 2011 News - PAL Stratford
PAL Stratford has had its share of disappointments recently, mainly centered around its attempts to finalize its real estate deal for an affordable housing project. The Chapter had already invested considerable sums in feasibility studies, architects plans, rezoning, etc., as well as time and effort in clearing a hazardous materials inspection and receiving favourable comments from the City regarding their proposal for affordable housing units.
Formal approval for that application for affordable housing units will probably not be forthcoming until April of next year, and monies cannot flow to the project until the property has been purchased and a building permit has been obtained. In the meantime, PAL Stratford continues to travel hopefully.

PAL Stratford News
Greetings from the Festival City! Membership coordinator, Aggie Elliot, and her assistant, Jessica Bowles had their summer’s hard work rewarded! We’re delighted to announce that paid membership has now grown to 111 from only 53 in July! The “blitz” was launched with a mailer that included an update on PAL Stratford, and a renewal form. Aggie has also organized a series of monthly PAL Community Events. The intention is to raise community awareness of the organization, and to entice both benefactors and active members to join.
The first event, “The B Concert” (a one-hour recital celebrating Bach, Beethoven and Boulanger), was held on November 13th at Greenwood Court Senior’s Home, featuring PAL Member Julie Brierley on cello, and Kerry White on piano. This free concert was well received, with more than 70 in attendance. Our committee wishes to extend best wishes for a very happy holiday season to everyone at PAL Canada®, and our hopes for a happy, healthy new year!
