We welcome several new Board members elected to the Board of Directors at the recent AGM. Bernard (Bernie) Desroches of Toronto, who was previously serving on the PAL Toronto Board joins us as a member-at-large. Bernie has a background in pharmacy and was, at one time, Communications Director of the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Kelly Handerek also joins us as a Member-at-Large from Regina. Kelly is an actor and director and is currently a professor in the Theatre Department of the University of Regina. Well-known Equity member Rachael McCaig is now the Canadian Actors Equity Association representative and A Frank Ruffo (also well-known) joins us as The Actors’ Fund representative.
Andrew Scorer, our previous Equity Representative has left us after two years of stalwart service on the Board and its communications committee. Hazel Walker, who served as Secretary for four years has also decided not to continue. She shouldered a ton of work and made a consistent contribution to everything the Board did. They’ll be missed.
Chris Marston stays on as President, Jane Heyman as Vice President and Peggy Mahon as Treasurer. At this point, a new Secretary has yet to be confirmed.
